We’re a week into to December, and the festive season is gathering pace. With that in mind, how about writing a short affair with a festive theme? You’ll find the not-so-christmassy prompts, as well as the rules, beneath the cut.

Posting is open for stories due today from these prompts, which were posted last week. Again, feel free to give it Christmas twist if you so desire.

Should your story be AU, Long term romance, or Het, then please post it in the Map Room (remembering to leave a link to it on Section VII).

Have Fun.

Napoleon Solo rested his feet on his desk, leaning back in his office chair while he took a break from the tedious job of doing his paperwork and simply enjoyed a sip of his coffee.

The staff in the commissary had finally made a good brew, not the usual bitter swill they tried to pass off as Maxwell House.

The office door opened with a little squeak...it’d been doing that for weeks now and Napoleon reminded himself yet again to call maintenance.

Illya walked in, as usual, his nose buried in some sort of reading material. This time it was the Daily News.

“Not exactly up to your standard of reading," Solo commented.

“I was looking at an article about the anniversary of your Pearl Harbor, I was unaware that 2,400 Americans died in the attack.”

Wow, the second prompt for December is bringing us to mid-month already.
Time flies when you're having fun writing stories about our brave men from U.N.C.L.E.

Not a requirement, but if you could make your subject matter for your next PicFic
holiday related, that would be cool!

Rules of the challenge behind the cut )

Here's your new prompt: (Yes it's the real 21 Club)

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire

Jack Frost nipping at your nose

Yuletide carols being sung by a choir

And folks dressed up like Eskimos

Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe

Help to make the season bright

Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow

Will find it hard to sleep tonight

They know that Santa's on his way

He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh

And every mother's child is gonna spy

To see if reindeer really know how to fly

So I'm offering this simple phrase

To kids from one to ninety-two

Although it's been said many times, many ways

Merry Christmas to you

So I'm offering this simple phrase

To kids from one to ninety-two

Although it's been said many times, many ways

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to you

Napoleon Solo sat in front of the crackling fire, listening to Nat King Cole while nursing a drink.

This is as close as I've ever gotten to a true MFU Christmas story. Was written for a DOWN THE CHIMNEY challenge a few years back.

“Ow!!”

The small child, wearing a yellow bobble hat, ducked out of the way as the grouchy elf he’d just kicked tried to grab him. The child sought refuge on the knee of Santa Claus. Hidden behind the bushy white beard, it was all Napoleon Solo could do not to laugh out loud at his tormented partner. Illya, bedecked in a green elf costume, complete with jingling green hat and plastic pointed ears, cursed under his breath. That was the twentieth time he’d been assaulted by one of the children waiting to see Santa. He couldn’t understand why the adults accompanying the children didn’t do something to curb the behaviour of their ill-disciplined offspring.

“What is that?” Illya asked, gesturing to the box Napoleon set on his desk.

“It’s a game for the Christmas party.” Napoleon turned the box to give Illya a better view.

“Twister,” Illya read. “’The game that ties you up in knots.’”
