Title:  Never Break A Promise
Author: jkkitty
Prompt word: Forgive, Bank
Prompt Colour: white
Word Count: 506

“Ah come on Illya forgive me.  Please.    I know I promised, but something else came up, and I just couldn’t do it.”  Napoleon hurried to catch up with his partner.  When Illya was angry, he sure could move.

“Humph, that something would not be Michelle, would it?”   Illya turned to glare at his partner.   “This time, I am not letting you off the hook.  Mr. Waverly said I needed your approval to go forward, and you are not getting out of it this time.”

Looking at the old wooden stairs that they were climbing and the small shack at the top of them, he felt his heart rising in his throat.  Napoleon’s guilty face still could be seen as he said.  “It wasn’t Michelle. Look, I am really sorry.   Can’t you forgive me if I promise I’ll do it next week?”

“Nyet.   You promise week after week and convincingly forget.   I will not forgive you this time.  We have waited too long to continue because you keep putting it off. Now stop stalling and let’s get this show on the road.”

“You do realize Illya that is the second American’s slang you have used in less than a minute.”

“You keep telling me I need to become more familiar with them, so I am practice.   Now get your butt in gear.”

Illya removed a key from a peg behind the counter and led Napoleon out the back door.  Looking it over, Napoleon could see a large grass field and some of ‘THOSE THINGS’ in front of him.

“The clouds look awful white.   No blue sky is showing through.  You know that could mean rain.”

Napoleon tried another track.  “Maybe today isn’t the best time.”

“I have checked the weather forecast, and there is no chance of rain.  Now stop stalling.   You are the CEA of an international organization. You deal with danger situation daily so I can’t believe you are afraid of this little thing.”

“That’s the problem.   It’s tiny.”

“Napoleon!  You are going to do this now.”

“It so small and looks as if it will bank when I make a turn in it.  What happens if I get sick?"

“It is all in your mind.  You promised, and you are keeping that promise.   I have had this finished for two months.”

“You had it finished!   What do you mean you had it finished!”

“I was able to build it in my spare time when I was bored instead of using my time to wine and dine women.”

“At least, my past time isn’t dangerous,” Napoleon mumbled.

“I have only two things to say to that.  Angelique and Serena.”

“Can’t you just test it?”

“I have and given Mr. Waverly my report.   Now I need someone who is a little technically challenged.”
“I’m not technically challenged! It’s just not my specialty.”

Illya’s glare left Napoleon nothing further to say.”   He climbed abroad and turned the key. download.jpg One more look at Illya’s determined face had him slowly taking off into the cloud filled sky and promising himself not to let his partner get bored again.

Every once in a while I scroll through the tags and just start clicking on them to see what I'll find.  It's a fun way to go back and read what came before, and you'll certainly find something to enjoy by doing so.
I ran across one of mine today that is setting off a lot of 'what ifs'  concerning the subject matter.  I think there might be something brewing here, and with snow days and slow days to contend with, the results might be in sooner than later.  I'm not promising anything this week, but look for more House of Vanya, specifically a follow up to the last story listed below, The Re-Kindling of Old Flames.
If you've never read any of my Vanya stories, or the prequel installments, A Fragile Heart and One Time, then I invite you to do so with the hope you can catch my vision of what it might have looked like within the parameters of the Return Movie.
Illya's two loves, or I perhaps should say, two of Illya's loves, occupy these stories. I hope you'll let me know what you think.

Title: Red Roses and White Lies

Author: mrua7

Word count: Approximately 950

Napoleon walked into his office, drawing his partner’s immediate attention by what he was carrying, a long narrow white box. Of course Kuryakin was curious and asked what it was.

“Long stem roses and I was damn lucky I got them, it being the day after Valentine’s day.”

Must Be Tuesday

Napoleon would say that it wasn't every day that your attempt to ask a pretty girl out for dinner was interrupted by someone waving a gun, but truthfully at this point in his life it happened so frequently as to be cliché. The difference on this occasion was that the gun wasn't pointed in his direction, and the man holding it didn't belong to THRUSH.

Part 1

Before he knew it, Illya found himself being whisked off to a private room. Two nurses stripped him down to his underwear and furnished him with a hospital gown. While one got him settled into the crisp, white sheets of the bed, the other surreptitiously removed his wallet from his pocket. It was passed off, unnoticed by the Russian, to an orderly, who immediately took it and used the contents to research the new patient.
