Short Affair Day is with us once again.

Today’s prompts are for stories due on July 4th. To that end how about a few Independence Day tales? It is entirely up to you of course, but it would be great if some of you wrote something about the day. You’ll find the prompts, and the rules down beneath the cut.

It was a moment of utter tranquility as Solo and Kuryakin both sat, staring out over the great pond that was the ocean while looking at the setting sun. Brilliant shades of pink, purple, orange and gold stretched across the sky in such an alluring enticement that the men permitted themselves a moment of unguarded relaxation.

Two minutes had already passed since Illya had dived into the water. All movement on the top of the pond was dissipating quickly; the reflection of the golden sunset settling into a solid image. Napoleon Solo held his breath in anticipation. His partner had been under the water too for far too long so he began to remove his jacket and shoes to go in after him. The reason for Illya’s current situation was lying unconscious on the ground by Solo’s feet.
