This is a stand out story, and it will take a while because it's long.  But it is so worth it, and I am so grateful it's preserved on the Way Back Machine along with the other File40 offerings.   In case you thought they were lost:

My Reader's Choice is called The Vodka Affair, written by PaulaH and GJ (or originally PJ Howard).
This was the single story that first inspired me to write stories for Man From Uncle, and so I owe a massive debt of gratitude to this author/authors. I hope you enjoy as much as I did. It is posted on FF, but the above link will take you to the story on File40.

I'd almost forgotten this story until it received kudos from [livejournal.com profile] lilidelafield a couple of days ago. I like it because it reminds us all to be careful what we wish for. The link takes you to AO3.

Anamary Armygram recommended this to me ("Because you like lockets and religion"), and I must admit I'm rather fond of it - so fond, in fact, that I bookmarked it on AO3, which is something I almost never do.
