Tomorrow is an important day for America, and by extension the world. It’s been a fractious time for all concerned so how about taking your mind off it for a little while? Come and write us a short story about our favourite secret agents. The prompts you need for stories due on November 14th can be found below the cut, along with the rules.

Title: The Dancing Courier Affair

Word count: Approx. 765

“Dumdumdumdiggidiggi-diggidiggi-chuggaschagadada...diggididiggidi-dumdumdum.”

The playing of the Bandir and Doumbek drums created an interesting and lively rhythm for the onlookers who waited with baited breath for what, or rather who was to come.

Several ceiling fans did little to cool the room and merely moved around the hot air.

Seated at a table to the side of the dance floor was a dark haired man dressed in a grey suit, definitely not a local; he was a well groomed foreigner. Beside him sat a blond, his hair longer and slightly unkempt. He’d removed his black jacket and tie; the top button of his white shirt was undone. He was looking uncomfortable in comparison to his companion.

Their eyes were focused on a woman who’d just stepped out to the middle of the floor.

Napoleon shivered as he looked out across the vast snow covered landscape. Illya was infiltrating a remote THRUSH outpost in an effort to retrieve the plans for a new long range weapon. Solo was supposed to have gone in with him but upon seeing the layout of the place it was decided that one of them would be more successful. Using his patented ‘I’m the senior agent’ routine, Napoleon had sent his Illya. He reasoned that, because he was slightly built, Illya would be able to get through tight spaces more easily. This, of course, had meant Napoleon was left waiting in the cold car.
