Yesterday's Poll... Impromptu Challenge?

Thanks to everyone who voted their choices in the poll.  I'm leaving it open for a while longer for anyone who might have missed it and still wants to jump in.  I'm also wondering if any of those questions might be fodder for a story?  What do you think about a little Impromptu Challenge?
After you get your Short_Affair stories up and running, think about a short short story based on the Poll questions. After all, a few of those scenarios are classic MFU material.

What kind of trouble do you have in store for our intrepid Men (and, indeed, women) from U.C.L.E.? If you can tell your tale using between 300 and 1000 words, and the given prompts, then this is the challenge for you. You'll find everything you need to know beneath the cut.

Remember, Section VII is a Gen site, but stories which are Het, Long-term Romance or AU can be posted in mfu_map_room.

Posting directly to Section VII is still fine but, if you wish, you can post your story elsewhere and provide a link. Please say where the link leads as a lot of people are unwilling to go to certain sites. Don't forget, Section VII and the Map Room are both available on Dreamwidth, for those of you who can figure it out (Just let us know if you posted there).

Short Affair Challenge August 28 (Bottle. Orange)

Go away, I’m fine




It was good to be home - small, frugal, badly furnished, but sufficient for all his needs. And he was alone. He could give in to the discomfort.

He sank down on the couch, shivering a little. The effects of the drugs Vallandros’ men had injected him with were insidious. He felt washed out and stupefied still. His partner had been reluctant to leave him – he always knew when something was wrong. He’d mother him like a baby if he were ever allowed to.

At least he knew his own name, and was starting to remember more. Memories of that incarceration were troubling. He’d rather forget. Think of something else. His partner protecting him from the blast, lifting his helpless body up towards escape, his hand pulling him up the steps. Think of something else.

He should show more gratitude. His partner never demanded thanks. ( Read more... )

Title: Words of Wisdom
Author: Rose of Pollux
Word Count: ~1000

Summary: Post-series, takes place in 1973, after Napoleon and Illya’s (eventually temporary) retirement from U.N.C.L.E. Napoleon decides to give some words of wisdom to some unknown recipient via a message in a bottle. Illya just watches in fascination.

Notes: The Hustle ref at the end is courtesy of Robert’s headcanon that Napoleon and Albert are the same person.
