In case any of you were waiting for it, I apologize for being a day late.  I know this is a bit of a transitional time for people, getting into a new season and, for some, preparing for extreme weather.  Let's just take a deep breath and try to get things done that will make us feel at peace with it all.  I know I have a load of work to do in the house in addition to the job, specific projects that I have going, and still trying to find my muse for this writing thing we do.
Perhaps others of you are feeling less inspired than you were in the not too distant past.  I know for me I've been concentrating more on my artwork, which, at the end of the day, seem to occupy more time than I can remember giving it for quite a long while.
With all of this in mind, the prompt is taking on a bit of Real Life.  Nothing too serious, but let's see what happens.
What If...
Napoleon and Illya become so distracted by personal issues that they flub a mission.

Story is due in two weeks (October 27-29), can be Halloween oriented or not, you choose.  Gen, minimum 500 words, posts all weekend.

Earlier today I posted a prompt for What If?, and wrote a few lines about my own lack of stories lately.  I don't know if others are experiencing a lost muse, or have recently found one after a dry spell.  For me it's a combination of more hours at work, a renewed enthusiasm for my artwork, and not wanting to sit down at a computer after I get home.
I started thinking about my weak points where writing is concerned.  I do pretty well when it comes to exploring the emotional state of the characters, or getting them into their missions.  What I'm not good at, or at least consistent, is describing the environment.  I seem to skip over details sometimes, like the color of the sky or the smells and noises around them.  And that got me to thinking...
Perhaps we could do something that is centered around what is missing.
I'm going to start things off by providing a bare bones narrative.  If you want to participate and start adding the details then copy my page onto a new post and start filling in.  When you're done, post it for the next person to fill in where they see a hole.  More than one person can take it from the beginning and post their version.  Once you post it's fair game for someone else to add to what you have done.
Here goes...

The assignment handed to Solo and Kuryakin was going to be easier than normal, or so it seemed.  The Russian was already dreaming of a quick trip out and then a weekend at home to do nothing but eat his favorite foods and listen to some music.

Napoleon had a date lined up that he just might be able to keep.  The thought of the new blonde in Translations would keep him warm as they traveled up north.

Alexander Waverly looked at his two top operatives and wondered if they had any idea what was waiting for them.

Okay, that's it.  This isn't exactly a Round Robin, but this is definitely only an introduction to what should be a longer story.  Details can be added as well as whatever comes next.
Ready... Set... Write!

After leaving the meeting with Alexander Waverly Kuryakin and Solo walked the grey corridors of headquarters side by side. The daily hustle and bustle of the many people there going about their business, made way for the two agents.

When they walked with such determination, everyone knew Napoleon and Illya were heading out on an assignment.

The partners were ready to go at a moment's notice headed out the through the dressing room in Del Floria's after turning in their badges.

Giving Del a little salute Solo made his way out the door and up the stairs to street level, followed by Illya.  They stood their on the sidewalk, surveing the familiar yet dull surroundings, noting the traffic coming and going. The sky was overcast, looking like there was a storm on the horizon.

"It smells like rain is coming," Illya said. "Perhaps we should go get our trench coats?"

A yellow cab screeched to a halt, letting the passenger out in front of Del Florias.  She was like a breath of fresh air,  a blonde dressed in a form fitting red dress, and a pair of matching pumps.

Everything else seemed grey compared to her and for a brief moment the woman's presence made Napoleon and Illya forget their own personal agendas, other than their assignment.

That's when a cold rain began to falll..
