In The Meantime...
Apr. 11th, 2018 08:23 amI get the feeling several of us are having to get through the Real Life stuff before we can settle down and be proper fans of the Men from UNCLE. I have stories to read and write, but my activity level has been ramped up a bit of late and I've fallen behind yet again.
I did have time to sit and ogle this photo, however. I know it is a favorite of mine, wondering if others might enjoy it as well. Okay, I'm laughing out loud because I know there is drool on multiple keyboards.
I'm thinking of a new feature that might help all of us to properly channel the characters and aid us in our writing, perhaps jiggle our muse into action. If photos can help, then let's post photos.
Use this tag: fave photos.
Feel free to post your own faves, I'll go first. Do you have a story idea yet?

How's this for a cheery Good Morning? Or Good Evening for those across the Atlantic. This is only one half of a very fine photo of both guys...

4 a.m. and Illya woke; he wondered why he was up this time of the morning.
Not due into headquarters until 11:00 am, a half hour before the morning briefing for Section II agents.
Something going on in the back of his mind, but he wasn’t sure what that was...wait, it was about a report he’d neglected to write.
Kuryakin switched on a light, sat at the dining table with paper and pen.
Where to begin? It was his own fault as he’d suggested report summaries now be limited to 100 words. No more no less.
Sigh...
A Little Drabble Do Ya--What You Hiding?
Apr. 11th, 2018 12:02 pmWalking into the office, Napoleon saw Illya shoving something into his drawer slamming it shut.
“What you got there partner?
“Nothing.”
“I saw you hiding something.”
“I do not know what you are talking about.”
Napoleon grinned. Illya should know better than try to hide something from here, it always caused a mystery he couldn’t resist.
Moving over to Illya’s desk, sitting over the mysterious drawer.
“So there nothing you don’t want me to see in this drawer.”
“Napoleon, I’m busy.”
Yanking the drawer open, he began laughing. “All this for a Twinkle.”
Illya turned bright red. “I like them.”

Archeology

Discovered in the archaeological dig that is our attic: One American Eagle pin with "Be Prepared" inscribed on the back. It went on my Girl Scout uniform.
One turtle coin purse
One Speidel watch band in package--price $7.95 which seems kind of high for the 60s, no?
One mustard seed charm
One hippie hair pin with Indian decoration
One John F. Kennedy Elementary School pin from 1967.
One WWII dog tag with my dad's name on it. (I used to wear it on a chain in high school)
One set of plastic beads--no idea why I would have saved them--they're flimsy.
Two tiny pictures of David McCallum, one of them looks like it was cut out of the TV Guide and the other may have been cut out of one of the MFU trading cards.
One Republican elephant pin (NO freaking idea why that was there--really)
Wearing black clothes, and soft soled shoes, he was able to move through the darkness like an unseen, silent shadow. It was a skill he had learned as a child, and one which he had worked hard to hone. Ahead of him, he could see his target. The man’s back was facing him so, with absolutely no sound, he unsheathed his knife. However, before he could make his move, the target suddenly turned and landed a knockout blow with his fist.
Illya looked down at his unconscious attacker with contempt.
“You will have to do better than that,” he muttered.
