Illya felt unusual disquiet. “This road is beginning to flood badly.” There was so much water under their wheels, he was anxious to avoid aquaplaning. “Can you see the river at all?”

“There’s suddenly a mass of water going down it a lot faster than we are.”

If you're thinking of joining in on the ABC Affair II Challenge, you still can, though you'll have a bit of catching up to do.  It's supposed to be 26 stories in 26 days. (the challenge ends June 30th)

Each day's prompt is a letter of the alphabet, starting with 'A' of course.  So please post your stories in order while catching up.

If you post 2 pieces a day you'll catch up in no time!  It can be a sentence, a paragraph, drabble, story or a poem...as long as it's short.
