Morning all! How are we this fine morning? I think I've worked out why my muse has disappeared. My little corner of England continues to bake under weeks of relentless sunshine, and my muse obviously prefers cooler climes. For those whose muses are still present here are some prompts for the next Short Affair.

Don't forget, you can now chose to use one of the prompt words, or to use both in your story (not forgetting the colour element), remembering to state which combination of prompts you are using.

The prompts and rules, for Short Affair stories due on July 30th, can all be found down below the cut. For stories due today, simply follow this link for the prompts.

Remember, Section VII is a Gen site, but stories which are Het, Long-term Romance or AU can be posted in mfu_map_room.

Posting directly to Section VII is still fine but, if you wish, you can post your story elsewhere and provide a link. Please say where the link leads as a lot of people are unwilling to go to certain sites. Don't forget, Section VII and the Map Room are both available on Dreamwidth, for those of you who can figure it out (Just let us know if you posted there).

Have fun.

I've looked into the Archives a lot, sometimes to find stories to recommend, other times to compare different years with where we are currently.  It's impossible to ignore the fact that we have fewer writers than in the beginning few years.  People have dropped out of sight, quite literally.
We have lost a few people to their eternal destinies, and they remain in our hearts if not in our daily encounters.  Others have simply resigned from the LJ communities entirely, leaving behind those of us who continue to enjoy and hopefully contribute to the longevity of the MFU fandom.
Real Life sometimes does require leaving things behind, which makes me all the more grateful for those who are able to remain part of this community of writers and readers here in Section VII, and elsewhere in the MFU communities.
Along with our virtual presence comes the opportunity to let people know we're here.  Whether it is a simple acknowledgement by clicking on the heart icon, or a word of encouragement, it's always nice to know we've reached people with what we write, or any type of contribution.
I am always in a state of trying to catch up with my reading, not to mention finishing my ABC Affair II story.  It has helped immensely to know people are reading it, and that holds true for anyone who posts stories.  If you're writing and posting stories, I encourage you to read what others are posting.  It can be a challenge to stay completely caught up, but as a community I think we all value the support we receive here; it's what makes us a community.
We're in our seventh year of Section VII, and the Archives are full of good stories that make me so proud of everyone who has been a part of this writing community.  The Man from U.N.C.L.E. television series may have ended fifty years ago, but the spirit of the show and the men who inspire us live on in the stories that keep them still fighting for justice and all that is good.
Thank you all for being a part of Section VII.
