It's on the calendar for this Thursday, and if you're wondering about it, let me explain...
I don't know about other parts of the world, but in the US a yard sale is simply what it sounds like.  You put stuff out on your lawn or driveway, people show up at the crack of dawn and then you have an old fashioned haggle fest over the things you no longer want.  It's the stuff of legends, the basis for all of these Junk to Jewels shows that are all over television schedules.
For us here on Section VII, our Yard Sale is a free for all of exchanging photos, stories, plot ideas, challenge ideas... whatever you have whizzing around in your brains or taking up space on your hard drive.
Of course, no money is involved in this yard sale.  It's where anything goes, and sharing the wealth of MFU memories and collectibles gets its day.  I hope you'll come and join in.

Short Affair PROMPTS for September 10th

September has arrived which means, for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, Autumn is upon us. Something that will remain evergreen, however, are our wonderful Men from U.N.C.L.E.
Today is Short Affair Day, so come and join us with a story.

Don't forget, you can now chose to use one of the prompt words, or to use both in your story (not forgetting the colour element), remembering to state which combination of prompts you are using.

The prompts and rules, for Short Affair stories due on September 10th, can all be found down below the cut. For stories due today, simply follow this link for the prompts.

Remember, Section VII is a Gen site, but stories which are Het, Long-term Romance or AU can be posted in mfu_map_room.

Posting directly to Section VII is still fine but, if you wish, you can post your story elsewhere and provide a link. Please say where the link leads as a lot of people are unwilling to go to certain sites. Don't forget, Section VII and the Map Room are both available on Dreamwidth, for those of you who can figure it out (Just let us know if you posted there).

Title: “All that glitters”

Word Count: slightly over...letting my muse do her thing.

They stood there staring at a moderate sized pyramid of glistening gold bullion ingots; it was the last thing they expected to see as they ran through the underground tunnels that would hopefully allow them to escape what was to come.

Solo and a limping Kuryakin were in a bit of a hurry seeing as how the Russian had set a number of explosives in the house above their current location before he took a knife wound to his thigh. (though that was the last thing that particular Thrushman would ever do)

Above them was Hale House, owned by the wealthy financier Richard Hale who was working his way up the THRUSH ladder; his ultimate goal was a seat on the Council.
