ABC's Affair 2019 O-Oak Tree

After hiding the money, Illya walked along the road lined with beads and other trinkets that had been tossed during the Mardi Gras parade and tangled up in the branches along the parade route early that morning.   While trying to figure out how to get Napoleon free, he thought about the loops of purple, gold, and green symbolizing justice, power, and faith. They were a representation of what the two agents stood for.  Fighting for justice, having faith in one another and fighting evil wrongdoing who were after more power than there were entitled to. One day their time may come to an end but not today.

Knowing the Thrush agents who had Napoleon would have to come down this street with his partner to avoid the crowd on the main streets, Illya was looking for a place to ambush them.  Looking ahead he smiled.  Up ahead was the main Mardi Gras tree.  The aged large oak its branches covered normally with moss, now was covered with purple, green and gold Mardi Gras ornaments in the shape of masks, crowns, jesters, king cake babies and more.

Climbing it quickly, he was soon hidden in the branches along with the other Mardi Gras items.   It wasn’t a minute too soon now four Thrush agents surrounded his partner pushing him along between them.  A whistle had Napoleon eyes raising without moving his head.

Once they were under the tree, Illya leaped taking down two of the men with him while all of them were hit with other items in from the tree raining down on them.   The surprised Thrush agents were soon down as the two UNCLE agents made a run for the river.  The pinging of bullets behind them had them diving into the water and disappearing from sight.

Since I can't get Zazzle to print anything overtly MFU, I thought the typewriter in today's Drabble post would be fun.  It's supposed to be posted and ready to sell, I'm hoping they won't see UNCLE and back off.
Today the shirts are 40% off, and you can change the style of shirt if you're not wanting long sleeves.  I put the price as low as they'd allow, so it's at around $26, minus the 40%.

The ABC Affair challenge 2019 - O is for Oak

Despite being in the middle of bustling New Orleans, the City Park was a relatively quiet place. The area, in which there grew several ancient oak trees, some many centuries in age, could even be considered secluded. This had been a useful fact a few decades earlier when it was a favoured spot for settling feuds by duel. An imitation of such an event was currently in play, though it was only just midnight, and not the traditional time of dawn.

Solo - A Little Drabble Do Ya! - March 20th

Solo.

The word meant alone.

When it came to his career, the name had suited him very well. Solo had liked being solo, and wasn’t happy when he’d been told he was to have a partner. To add insult to injury, it would be a Russian.

Waking up in the medical suite of U.N.C.L.E. New York, Napoleon smiled upon seeing Illya waiting by his bedside. He was alive thanks to that Russian. Had he still been living up to his name, he would have perished; alone. Solo.

Napoleon had been happy solo, but having a partner was much more preferable.
