Alas, the summer of 2020 is winding down, actually it's been the summer
that never was...this year.
All we can do is hope and pray life returns to normal
and we can look forward to summer 2021!

The WRITER'S AND READER'S CHOICE
gives you, the writers and readers of MFU fanfiction,
the opportunity to post your personal picks,
be it your own stories or those of your favorite author.

Dig up those stories from way back when and revive them here,
or rec a more recently written piece.

Post a link to them here in
section7mfu

Just remember this is a gen site,
however that being said, you may also rec stories
of a gen-mature nature that contain violence, torture, or mild het.

Please use the tag: writers and readers choice as well as

I wrote this story a few years back for the "What if" challenge.  It's been a favorite of readers and I've had requests for a follow-up story, but not sure if I can manage one just yet.  The muse hasn't been very cooperative lately.

"To Infinity and Beyond" is a MFU meets outerspace tale... so definitely AU!

Prompt: quest

“Blimey,” Slate blurted out as he and the others searched in vain to find the missing Russian among the gigantic stones,”how the bloody hell did people manage to move these stones here? I read some of these rocks came from Wales...doesn’t seem possible. Those stones alone must weigh tonnes.”

“Yes between two to five tonnes to be precise. As to how they got here, that’s another story for another time,”Ellery said.”Somehow your friend must be on another plane of existence that shares Stonehenge.  I have no rational explanation for that. Until I passed through the sarsens I could see you but you all couldn’t see me. It was if we existed in the same space… but, I don’t know. I’m not sure how to describe it. We were out of sync."

Mark merely shook his head as such a theory just didn’t fit into his personal beliefs. Like Illya, he was a bit of a pragmatist, though he could be more open-minded than the Russian. But still, the doctor’s theories seemed like nothing but a bunch of impractical prattle.

This is an introduction to  April Dancer and Mark Slate for my timeline, such as it is.  It pre-dates some other stories featuring the duo.

My recommendation is The Icarus Bluff Affair by GM.

Many people will have read this, I think, but it rewards rereading. It has 5074 words.
