Things aren't very busy on LJ these days, and I'm not sure if it's just a change of season for everyone or a change of interests.  So, with that in mind, how about a poll.

I had an idea for an intermittent challenge, but I'm not sure how well it would work. I was thinking of maybe an opening sentence/short paragraph from which a story could be developed. Therefore every story would start the same way but, writers being writers, they would no doubt go in different directions. This is, of course, a proto-idea and I have no idea if it would work.
