There was a definite edginess when it was black and white... Something was lost when it when to color but back then color was such a 'novelty' on the telly and the noir quality of the first season was just forgotten about. Color was fab!

I remember when I parents got their first color TV is was huge, a big cabinet but the screen wasn't that large. Ye old test tube tv technology.

Season 1 was definitely more edgy, which they were getting back in season 4.

I've only ever known a colour TV, but my sister (who is 6 years older than me) remembers getting colour for the first time and it totally freaked her out. Colour TV is older than she is, bit B&W sets were cheaper.
