The Breach Of Promise Affair - Ch. 8

When I started The Breach of Promise Affair, I had no idea it would still be a WIP almost a year later...or that life would throw me the curveballs it has in that time.

Chapter 8 is shorter than I originally intended, but I'm longing for the sense of accomplishment that comes with posting something. The chapter recaps a bit of the action from Illya's POV, so rereading the previous chapter here might be helpful.

Thank you. Though it was short, I hoped it had enough umph to stand alone.

I started a piece on Asbury Park for the ABC Challenge, but never got past the outline. Maybe next year. :)

Next year the ABC challenge will be different, last year it had no theme, this year it was cities or towns, next year is up in the air with the theme. Any suggestions ?
