Thanks for posting. This was a well-written, uplifting story that made me smile. Especially “If it wasn’t for the fact he didn’t believe such things, he could almost be convinced that there was some higher power that enjoyed him suffering.” They’re on to you. :D

I too thought that "he could almost be convinced that there was some higher power that enjoyed him suffering" was perfect. Maybe I should let him know it is not a higher power but the power of the pen.
