I think it might actually be Spring...
Apr. 27th, 2019 09:36 amThe temps are consistently above miserable, and it's that bright and cheerful shade of green everywhere. All of this leads me to believe that we are, indeed, in the midst of Spring.
With that in mind, be on the look out for a post from
jantojones she's the author of our Spring Round Robin prompt. After she posts the story that will lead us, sign ups will be open and the fun will begin in earnest. Please join in and help us continue what is now an annual event here on Section VII.
On a personal note, I've had that Real Life thing infringing on the fun of writing and reading here. A flat tire sidelined me for a few days, but a local full service station came to my rescue, quite literally. The fellows there came to my house to pump the tire up for driving, took it back and repaired the tire, then delivered it back to my home again. I'm going in for an oil change next week, and the owner said I can pay for the tire when I get the oil change. Who does that? In this age of impersonal service and fear of fraud, this business accepts that I will pay them and has done so with exceptional care for me as a customer. Perhaps it's just one of the perks of living in a small town.
I have ventured into the world of bookmaking... No, not on the horses ;). I've been following a talented artisan on youTube called Nik the Booksmith, and inspiration followed. I have a baby shower to attend and decided to make a Baby Junk Journal (I'm not a fan of the junk aspect of that title), and the project turned into an obsessive journey to include more and more... original artwork, vintage embellishments and even some Huckleberry Finn postage stamps. Seriously, I spent two long days on it and several more sporadic episodes as I found or thought of more things to add. I'll post some pictures on my personal journal page, but suffice it to say I'm not doing it again anytime soon. Well, maybe an MFU junk journal... hmmmm...
Have a glorious day, recommend some stories on Writers and Readers Choice and look for the Prompt Post for the Spring Round Robin.
Thanks for hanging out here on S7.
