Excellent story! it amazes me how many people have no idea how their food is produced. I haven't seen a duck prepared, but I saw my Gran skin and gut the many rabbits my uncle brought home.

Hi, thanks very much. I've never actually had to do this. My mother had some garbled idea about it, but on the one occasion she was given an unprepared bird, it turned out to be the wrong idea, so she did try shaking it - unsuccessfully (she wasn't the greatest cook, either). I live vicariously: my resource for this was the ever helpful YouTube.
