I think that distractions go a long way to helping us look past the current crisis the world is facing. I am not given to the predictions of doom, I tend to keep a more optimistic outlook; I believe we'll see a vaccine and a cure. That's my platform and I'm sticking to it.
I do think the creative process is a good antidote to the gloom of those predictions we keep hearing, because the production of art and literature, whatever it is that qualifies as the creative process, is good for our attitude. The ability of the human body to respond favorably to happy words and thoughts is scientifically proven, and I will add that before science found that our immune system gets fractured by worry and anxiety, one of the writers of the book of Proverbs wisely stated that a good attitude acted like a medicine for the body. Or, as King James put it, a merry heart doeth good like a medicine.
Today, try drabbling.
One Hundred Words to confirm your commitment to not going down with the doomsayers is one way to bolster your optimism, which I hope you possess today.
