This was fantastic. I think you (no pun intended) nailed the Russian. He was often portrayed as reticent with women on the show and as you put it, discerning when it came to being with women. He definitely wasn't a monk, and a healthy male would have desires, such as you portrayed....yet he was every the gentleman...though a lonely one.
