Why I Like It: I cried. ChannelD creates an AU in which the child Illya Kuryakin is rescued from a horrible life by UNCLE scientist George Piper. This is the first story in a series that takes Illya from a young boy to manhood to UNCLE to love. Though Napoleon and Illya’s relationship is mentioned in later tales, the thrust and main focus of this series is the relationship between Illya and his father figure George. Please don’t let the mention of slash in much later tales put you off this thought provoking series. We should all be so lucky to have had a George Piper in our lives to call us “Honey.”

All of the stories are beautifully written. I am not much of a crier, but ChannelD made me cry. And I’m so grateful.
