An anthem, a philosophy.. a song story.  There's something here for just about any topic. Posting begins next Friday the 31st and runs through Sunday, February 2nd. Stories should be a minimum of 500 words, no drabbles, and within the guidelines of Section VII, with nothing graphic and appropriate for all readers.

Songwriters: WORDS FROM THE BOOK OF, ECCLESIASTESFRENCH, GEORGE ABER ADAPTATION AND, PETE SEEGER
Words-adapted from The Bible, book of Ecclesiastes
Music-Pete Seeger

To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep

To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time to build up,a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together

To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing

To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven

A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time for love, a time for hate
A time for peace, I swear it's not too late

How ironic that you should post this song just as the death of Pete Seeger is announced.

These words have great resonance for me; they were the reading at my mother's funeral. Will try to make the effort to produce something worthy of them! Would it be alright if I wrote the beginning of a possibly much longer story as an entry?

That is the advantage of being ahead in time of you! I think I may have heard of Sandy Hook. One of my favourite Pete Seeger songs of course was 'If I had a hammer', mainly because I taught it once to a captive audience of two hundred children at one of my so-called 'singing assemblies' I used to do. Unfortunately, as I don't play an instrument we had to use a rather dire backing track from a CD but afterwards I showed them a Youtube clip of Peter, Paul and Mary singing it. A song can be transformed by the performance. I could have done with your help on said occasion!!

Will do my best to write something. I have a writing test for the OU French course I'm doing, but once that hurdle is jumped, I can indulge myself.
