WRITER'S CHOICE ~ "A Small World Indeed."
Jul. 26th, 2014 09:59 amThis story deals with Illya befriending an older Russian gentleman who helps him revisit his past.
Why I like this story: I've always enjoyed writing backstories about Illya. I've created a tumultuous and often unhappy past for our favorite blond, and yet somehow he manages to rise above it to be good man and not some sort of crazed killer. It's a past he's reluctant to share with others; being a somewhat prideful and self suffiencient man, he doesn't want others to pity him becuse of his unhappy life.
I hope you enjoy this story again, if not for the first time. If you read my fics, you'll know that I do a lot of cross-referencing between stories...giving the characters a consistent and sometimes complicated background.
Please feel free to comment, if you like. They're always appreciated very much.

I think what I mean is, write stories where NS has a sister and IK has a cat and another set where IK has a brother and NS has a dog, but don't have NS's sister going out with IK's brother.

Date: 2014-07-26 03:12 pm (UTC)Illya does get to meet Solo's family, but there's minimal interaction. In The Cé la luna Affair...another AU story where Napoleon does finally get married, I have some amusing interaction betwenn Illya and one of the bride's cousins. (can you say run Illya and don't look back?) And there's lots of stories introducing the Solo and Kuryakin children, all part of my busy AU universe...though I haven't written a good AU story in quite a while. Keep meaning to, but I keep getting side tracked.
I've had a few crossovers and only briefly mentioned where Illya's long lost cousin Anastasiya and Solo's brother Hannibal meet and eventually fall in love, but they're only a side bar and not focused upon by taking away from Illya and Napoleon.
Their meeting took place in my epic story 100K+ words. "The Dancing in the Dark Affair" though as characters they were already briefly mentiioned in a few other stories.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
