Nice visual with the 'flurry of feathers.' You have me worried about Napoleon's digits now; I've never seen frostbite in my nursing career. I understand it's extremely painful as your story demonstrated. I like it when writers get the medical part right, so Kudos from me on that and the rest of your story as well.
