A Reminder About Vive La France

Our special challenge, Vive la France, was originally in response and in solidarity with the Je Suis Charlie movement that resulted from the horrific attacks in France as part of a terroristic campaign in that country. The challenge posts from March 2-6, and can be combined with other challenges when it works, as a continuing story throughout the week or one or two stand alone entries.
When discussing it last week, in the aftermath of the announcement of svetlanacat4's  passing, mrua7 suggested that we dedicate the week to Svet. It is a small gesture, but one I hope will meet with acceptance and approval from everyone who participates, writers and readers alike.
UNCLE is nothing if not dedicated to stopping the violence we saw in France and sadly, so many other places.  Let's  put our men to work next week and let them do what they do so well.

I would really like to participate in this tribute to Svetlanacat, but I've just agreed to come out of retirement (briefly) to sing the Faure Requiem. It's my way of honoring Svetlanacat's life, and especially her love of music. I've never sung the Requiem, and it requires a lot of vocal control, so I've got my work cut out for me. Would it be okay if I'm really, really late with a submission? Like, in April?

I am going to try and come out of posting retirement and writing retirement and try to write something in honour of Svet and my adopted new country.
