I mean what I say. I lost my job 14 months ago, and have had no luck finding anything else. As the time has gone on, I've came to believe that I must be useless. My situation is obviously not the same as Napoleon's, but Illya's words made me think. So, thank you :-)

I just read this again and it does do a fine job of framing this melancholic episode. I couldn't find a comment from me on the original posting... curious. I apologize for missing it, or perhaps it just got lost ;) In any event, it is a terrific HODOWE story.
