"He's still just lying there. What do you suppose knocked him out like that?" Napoleon was peering into a small cell that housed one solitary individual. So far no one had detected a door or other opening into the room; only this round window, similar to a ship's porthole, let them see inside.
"I would say drugs, or else he is a very sound sleeper. His breathing is very even...' Illya stepped back and took a deep breath.
"It is quite vexing. Do you recognize him?"
Solo was still staring at the prone man, unable to place him among either THRUSH or UNCLE personnel. Several Section VIII people were devising a plan to enter the room but so far the wall seemed inpentrable. The discovery of this place had been purely accidental, or so it had seemed. Illya was beginning to wonder about it now, suspicious of the origins, the person inside and what possible motive might be behind this bizarre situation.
A shrill warbling from his communicator brought the CEA out of his musings.
"Yes sir, I... No sir... Are you certain? It seems... I apologize sir, we shall take care of it immediately. Solo ... out..."
"What is it Napoleon?" Illya noted the effect of the conversation had created a look of extreme distress on his friend's face.
"Mr. Waverly says to withdraw, we are to leave this place exactly as we found it and ... to quote ... not look back."
Both men looked once again into the small window, curiosity now replaced by horror.
