The Round Table - Vacation?

There are a few episodes where a reference is made or a scene supports the idea that our agents do indeed take vacations.  In Terbuf the two are together in Italy, one would assume at the end of a mission.  In the Foxes and Hounds Affair Napoleon is just returning from a vacation when he is put to work without any idea of the details.
A lot of fiction has the two pretty much joined at the hip as they spend all of their off hours together.  The question then is, do you think these two men would have been together in their off time as a matter of friendship, lack of other social contacts...?  I know there is that other POV but I'm not talking about a physical relationship.  I just wonder if we have it right about their abiding loyalty on and off the job.
Devil's Advocate time, but I'm thinking they have a lot of time apart when given the choice, if for no other reason than the need to decompress from the job.

Assuming we're talking Gen here: I can't imagine our guys spending every waking moment together. Even best friends take time apart from one another. It refreshes the friendship when they're together. They might occasionally take a trip together, but not every single vacation.

I agree with Avery; I can't see them spending every off hour with each other. They both have different interests and pastimes. Given the fact in the MGM bios that they live in the same apartment building, Napoleon on the floor above Illya...they'll see each other a lot. They may vacation together from time to time...

It seems they have a strong friendship in spite of their cultural differences and personal tastes, but even the best of friends need a break from each other.

If they spent most of their down time together, each would begin to resent the other. This in turn would impact on their close working relationship. Like most good friends, I would imagine they would take the odd planned vacation together, but not every time. I love my best friend dearly, but I think if we spent every waking moment together, one of us would snap.

The above comments are very true. But I can see Waverly asking them to inspect some place, or be on standby somewhere, and them doing vacation things there; and I hope having quite a good time.

That sounds right. Certainly Terbuf had that feel to it, as though they were given a few days off after a mission.

Definitely, everyone needs down time. Plus, they have very different standards regarding fun and leisure.

Absence and distance can make the heart grow fonder, no matter what one's perception may be. These are men whose lives are intense, and that usually requires time out from whatever falls within that environment.

Terbuf aired right after King of Knaves which ended in Italy, so the assumption might be that they were given some unexpected vacation time before they flew back to New York. (Maybe one of those use it now or lose it things.)

I think during downtime between assignments they would have each gone their own way.
