Some might find Waverly too dark in Marjatta's A Bargain Kept, but it is a very well written fic,

Especially dark Waverly--I tend to see him as, the character once stated in the "concrete Overcoats", as turning into an old grandmother, especially where these two are concerned. But, maybe that's why he sent Napoleon to take Illya out. He knew that he'd take him out of harm's way and keep each other safe.
