Art imitating life perhaps. I have had a deluge of flies in my house, and apparently my neighbors as well. I don't know why, perhaps they're trying to escape the hot air outside; in any event I've taken to using a small vacuum cleaner to simply suction them up because I cleaned the windows once already and this method of extermination doesn't leave a smear. Anyway, it always reminds me of the Grimms Fairy Tale of the Valiant Little Tailor, which is how I arrived at this...

Autumn was drawing near and with it a few wisps of cooler air. Gliding along on that air was a swarm of flies that invaded the apartment of Illya Kuryakin. He swatted and fumed, cursing in Russian at the foul flying menace until, at last, he thought he had killed the last of them.
He bragged softly to his cat, the one who claimed the blond man but wouldn't actually live with him full time. On this morning, however, he admired the fine work of ridding them of the flies. Humans were sometimes swifter than a cat's paw.
Sometimes.
I had to post the picture ... had to do it.
