"Mixed signals" for A Little Drabble Do Ya!

Solo crept forward along the brick wall, signalling for his partner to do the same where he was crouching out of sight.

There was no response, but Napoleon daren’t use his communicator as its trill would give away Mark’s position.

Slate slowly rose, signalling it was time to move.

Good thing, as moments later small explosions went off right where they’d been standing.

They got off scot free...

“Good thing you moved when I signalled,” Napoleon said.

“I was the one who signalled mate, not you.”

Staring at each other for a second; they contemplated whether to bristle or not...

It just proves that both men have excellent instincts, though I doubt with of them will back down. Unless Napoleon decides to play the rank card.

Hmmm, men and testosterone could be a factor. But given Napoleon's rank, he'd be cool enough not to argue a pointless point with Mark.

Solo being the senior agent should be in charge, but would he bother to pull the rank card? As a CEA he should know when to back down or how to defuse a situation. Sometimes giving in is the better move right?
