Welcome New Members to Section VII
Jan. 10th, 2016 08:32 amWe've had a flurry of activity during our Winter Hiatus that has brought in several new members. I'd like to say "Welcome" to all of you and hope that you enjoy being a part of this community.
We've had a few weeks off from our regular Challenge Schedule but that's all ending this week. Everything is back in motion and so are we as winter progresses and our need for Solo and Kuryakin stories reach a new height of anticipation after letting them rest along with our hard working muses.
I find that my schedule is looking a little less stressed and so I am looking forward to getting back to work and participating in everything we have to offer here on Section VII. Thanks to all of our writers and readers (it's no fun without someone to enjoy what is written), Man from UNCLE gen fiction has gone from less than one thousand stories on sites like fanfiction.net to nearly twenty-five hundred, and that doesn't account for the multiple entries in several series such as the
mrua7 /mlaw Snapshots, Files and Fragments by
otherhawk, and Brief Briefings by
jantojones.
Four years ago the idea for Section VII emerged out of the observation that Gen fiction was falling to the wayside, or so it seemed. Other comms existed for other expressions of the MFU fandom, and Gen seemed to be falling so far behind as to begin to seem less than mainstream. In order to provide a forum for writers and readers who wanted a steady diet of new Gen fiction, Section VII came to be. It was intended as a vehicle to promote the genre and keep MFU constantly moving with new and enthusiastic activity from cousins of all ages, whether first generation or new to the show.
The movie has introduced an entirely fresh crowd to MFU, and many of them have discovered the television series in the process. We welcome all of you to our love affair with Solo and Kuryakin via the actors who drew us into their partnership as we watched on our TV screens.
I hope that Section VII continues to fill a spot in the hearts of fans, both writers and readers of MFU fanfiction. It's a new year and it will hopefully be filled with new adventures for our dynamic duo.
