I wouldn't expect you to remember, in the US this was our history unfolding in front of us thanks to the miracle of television. Seeing JFK assassinated was pretty traumatic. This pic was taken moments before he was killed.
Oh yeah, I don't remember this photo, but that pink suit on Jackie dates it immediately.
At the risk of sounding old, I was in grade school and remember class being interrupted with the news that the President had been shot. The teachers were all crying and dithering around in the halls for about an hour. Then just about lunchtime, they told us to go straight home, stay inside the rest of the day, and remember what to do if the air raid sirens went off.
Hey I think a lot of us are pretty much around the same age. I have to say, that's quite a memory you have! It was a Friday so I was surely in school, but I have absolutely no memories of it. I only recall being glued to the my parents new television set. The thing was huge, and I remember seeing the news reports, and for some reason Walter Cronkite's face sticks in my head. I also recall when Oswald was being taken out when Jack Ruby shot him. Strange how you remember some things and others you don't.
The footage of it was very brief, but I remember it vividly. Strange... There's probably videos of in on You-Tube. I looked at ones for the assassination and forgot how gruesome they were. ugh...
