"Weather or Not" a double drabble story Chapter 14~ for A Little Drabble Do Ya!

“Chamomile tea?” Lisa asked. “That usually means he’s pretty concerned about something. “These strange weather occurrences; do you really think someone might be making them happen?”

“Though fickle, Mother Nature isn’t that bad,” Napoleon gave her a little salute before following his partner down the grey corridor.

The lights suddenly flickered and without warning everything went black. Seconds later the emergency lighting came on, bathing everything in an eerie red glow.

The security lights flashed on and off in the ceiling above their heads, though the klaxons didn’t sound.

Napoleon immediately opened his communicator.

“Security, what’s happened?”

“Sudden high winds knocked out the main power across the grid. R & D’s weather station on the roof clocked them over 100 mph and on top of that, there were at least thirty  lightning strikes in all five boroughs damaging transformers and relay stations.”

Illya leaned into his partner’s communicator. “Are the winds continuing at that speed?”

“No sir, died down. Power outages are being reported throughout Manhattan. Given the dangerous weather, Mayor Wagner and Governor Rockefeller have now declared a state of emergency and are cautioning people to remain indoors.”

“Let’s hustle tovarisch! Napoleon took off with his partner right behind him.

Good suspense scene. Hope this doesn't mean Waverly misses his tea - he'll be smoking like a small but dangerous dragon.

Ahhh Lisa never falters in getting the boss his tea! He may be smoking like a dragon if is agents don't solve this mystery.

*sigh* Chamomile tea. I'll take honey in mine, thanks.

Power outages are such a bummer. Thank goodness they're a thing of the past, for the most part. With no window in headquarters, it would be pitch black. Multiple lightning strikes and 100 mph winds? THRUSH is perfecting their new weapon, YIKES!

Power outages a thing of the past? Not where I live. The power grid still can go down from a major storm, lighting knocks out transformers all the time, as do transformer fires. We had power go out just a few days ago.

After hurricane Sandy my power was out for nearly a week, other parts of town for over 2 weeks. Have had N'or Easters and wind storms knock out power as well.

No wonder Waverly requested Chamomile tea!

When I was little, we seemed to lose power with every thunderstorm. My Dad had a generator so we always had lights on. Used to bug the neighbors.

The last power outage here was the big one that lasted several days and involved many states. Only get "hiccoughs" now. Just long enough to need to reset all the blinking appliances. Glad there's no hurricanes in Ohio. You could always move here. X<P

We never lost power that many times when I was a kid. Though I do remember the big Northeast blackout of 1965, That was the first major outage I'd ever experienced, other than hurricane Sandy.

We don't get hurricanes that often, and I've grown up with them so I know what to do. Am not right by the water so need to prepare for flooding.
