It All Comes Out In The End
Mar. 3rd, 2016 03:47 pmThis snippet is for Vysila. (So she need not endure it alone)
“P… precisely what do you think you’re going to do with that?”
“Ah, I believe you are well aware of its purpose.”
Illya grasped at the back of his the flimsy garment his was given to wear as beads of perspiration formed on his brow.
“No, thank you,” he replied, an octave higher than his usual baritone.
“Doctor’s orders. He’ll be in shortly.”
He backed up a step, keeping his eyes on the woman in white or more precisely, on the implement of torture she brought into the exam room with her.
Feeling for the metal table directly behind him, he sidestepped it and moved around to the other side, placing some distance between himself and that thing. Why was it that Medical’s treatment of him seemed worse than the enemy at times?
“I will not allow this,” he said defiantly, crossing his arms in front of him as he did so. “May THRUSH liquidate me first!”
“Well, you’ve got part of that right,” the nurse said with a grin. “Besides, your partner went through the same thing earlier this morning. I can assure you, he survived.”
“Without his dignity intact, I’ll wager.”
“I’m sorry Mr. Kuryakin, but all enforcement agents are now required to have a sigmoidoscopy as part of their yearly physical exam. No exceptions. Up on the table now; we’ll get this part out of the way.”
In the end (pun intended), Illya tolerated the enema prep and exam that followed well, though he vowed to seriously contemplate a career change before another year passed. (Yeah, I know… sorry!)
