I wrote this story back in 2012 for our friend laurose8 who asked me to do a Man from UNCLE story that takes place in her part of the world as none have taken place down in New Zealand. It's a nice long weekend read!

I had a major adventure myself researching for this story (and there's lots of it) and I became enamored of the Maori culture because of it, as well as NZ.

It's on my bucket list to visit there!

Thanks to Laurose and rosywonder for their help and advice in writing this MFU adventure!

Summary: Thrush is building nuclear bombs; Napoleon, an Army CID officer and Illya are on the trail of missing enriched uranium stolen from a facility in Virginia, but their assignment takes them in very different directions. A bit of het in chapter 3.

Love writer Ngaio Marsh. Several of her Inspector Alleyn mysteries are set in New Zealand, her home country. That and the LOTR movies make me want to visit someday.

Thank you! Never read the Alleyn mysteries, though I'm sure Laurose has heard of them. Yes the LOTR movies are a definite lure to head down under! Of course I need to visit Laurose too. :D

Hope you enjoy the story. Tons of research in this one. Please excuse any typos and errors there, hopefully not too many. It's one that I need to go back and beta again, just to be sure I caught everything.

Definitely one of your better ones. I hope I've said before, what a good job you did of the Maoris, both their culture and the indviduals.

I hope you don't mind my asking, but I did find intriguing an idea you had of an affair with an Australian setting, doing something similar with one of their native cultures..?

Thank you! You have no idea how pleased I was that you liked your story. I didn't write a fic like this taking place in Australia but there was a chapter in Pelorus where Illya is in UNCLE headquarters there.
