The partners left Waverly’s conference room a bit perplexed, perhaps Illya more so.

Yet it was Napoleon who spoke first. “Do you get the feeling the Old Man was protecting you from something, at least in regards to the Federal Bureau of Investigation taking over this operation?”

“I am not sure why? Usually it is the Central Intelligence Agency who has voiced concerns about me in the past.  As you well know, they do not hesitate pulling me in for questioning now and then, just to remind me they are watching.”

“Think Waverly is afraid of you being implicated, since the THRUSH operation is in the heart of Little Russia?”

“Perhaps. I suppose they would only see my nationality and think guilty,” Illya shrugged. “Still I would like to continue doing a bit more snooping.”

“Could be risky Illya; just how are we going to manage this?”

“We? I think not, but I will wear a disguise.”

“Hey wither thou goest. If you’re caught on your own you’ll be hauled off on some trumped up charge. If I’m there at least we’re working as a team for U.N.C.L.E.”

“Then we better not get caught,” Illya winked.
