And to those not in the States, happy weekend even if you don't get yourselves a holiday.  Here in the US we've flags waving and barbeques on the agenda.  Fireworks have already been shooting off in anticipation of the Big Event on Monday, and the roads are thick with traffic as people head towards family or a short vacation to some cherished destination.
Even though the Man from UNCLE was a non-partisan, apolitical organization, our team landed in New York City.  It would be inevitable for some of this country's traditions and celebrations to catch up to the Russian, and the 4th of July is no exception.  It represents, perhaps more than all of the others, the ideals and foundation of what generated a Revolution and established what would become, and was at the time of the series, the pre-eminent world power.  Illya Kuryakin might disagree, certainly the Soviets envisioned their empire as unstoppable and ultimately victorious in the race for domination.  Fifty plus years later we do indeed see a former KGB operative at the helm of a rejuvenated Russian state who still hopes for the type of power it once wielded.
With that in mind, how about a poll.

Oh we're definitely winning, by a long, long, looooonnnnng way. Unless you elect Trump I think we've got this one nailed quite honestly. In terms of political theory clusterfucks frankly you're just not in the same league as us at the moment. About 30% of the time life feels normal, and then the other 70% it feels like there's a revolution going on. It feels both very bad and somehow in a strange way a relief.

Happy Fourth of July! Hope Precious thinks the barbecues make up for the fireworks.
