“Napoleon, how do you change food preferences with Housekeeping?”

“There’s a form.  I’ll bite: What changes are you making?”

Illya blushed.  “Your decadence has rubbed off on me.  I want steaks, asparagus in season and mores types of spices.”

Napoleon frowned.  “You can’t cook!  You’ll ruin those steaks!”

“Not if you come over and make dinner.”

“Not a bad idea; we’ll pad your shopping list with luxuries so that it doesn’t look like I’m the only one with champagne tastes.  We eat dinner together enough to make it worthwhile.”

“You would make my choices all about you, Napoleon.”

“So what?”

In my MFU universe, there are people to handle the mundane things for agents like cleaning and food shopping. Who wants to come home after saving the world and have to clean the toilet?

I remember from your earlier stories and I think it's a great idea. Agents can focus on the important stuff like saving the world without worrying about the meat spoiling in the fridge. They'd need vetted housekeeping anyway. I can't see Napoleon running a sweeper. I was wondering who would pay for this service and the food. Perhaps it comes out of their pay?

Nowadays there's "Hello Fresh" and other companies like it that send all inclusive meals for the customer to cook. Wish I could afford them.

In my world, the main reason Accounting is always crying the blues to Mr. Waverly is because UNCLE's Section IIs are basically "kept" men and women. Their rent, their utility bills, their housekeeping including food shopping are all paid for by the Command, plus they earn an extremely generous salary. Also, Accounting is responsible for filing the American agents' tax returns because, as I said in another story, UNCLE agents should not be called in for audits or penalized for late returns when they were out saving the world.

That is why I love Spikegirl58's "Working Stiffs" series because the main characters are the people behind the agents who keep them together. You should check it out.
