I'm sure most people have read this already but, "Beginnings" was the very first Man from U.N.C.L.E. story written by me. Since today is a day of 'firsts' prompted by Glennagirl, I decided to add it to the collection.

It's a backstory of Illya Kuryakin and his eventual arrival at UNCLE. When I first posted it, it was a mess as I tried to cram too much too quickly. Thanks to Avery11's sage advice to slow down, I rewrote the story and was very happy with the end result. It went from a short story to something that was rather epic.

It spans his childhood to becoming an adult. I've since started posted more backstories that fill in the gaps in Beginnings. There's now...I think, 31 Illya backstories posted on FF.net under my other user name of Mlaw.

One of my very first reviews on 'Beginnings' said "I'd have paid money to read this." I was, needless to say, blown away.

I'd like to thank all the cousins out there for their continued support and comments over the years, and their valued help as well!
