[identity profile] mrua7.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] section7mfu
Thursday was a 'day of firsts'- posting links to the first story written or posted by the cousins here in Section VII.

Today I'd like to ask those same cousins (and anyone else) to rec which of your stories that seemed represent to you, a turning point in your writing. Perhaps it's your second story or one you wrote much later that shows a maturity or growth in your fan fiction.

What story in your collection stands out to you?

Writers, post a link to that story, or repost it here in full if you like.
Readers, post links to your favorite stories.

Post your gen/gen-mature rec's in [livejournal.com profile] section7mfu,
pre-slash/slash rec's in [livejournal.com profile] uncle_du_jour, and
het, au, romance rec's in[livejournal.com profile] mfu_map_room

TBH, every story has been a turning point in one way or another. When I started writing for MFU, I decided to write at least one story in every genre:Gen, Slash, Het, character study, adventure, angst, horror, humor, multi-chapter, crossover, AU, etc. Each one moved me into a new set of skills.

Other cousins' writing has moved me forward, too. Reading a story like Orokthro's "Lipstick and Vodka," for example, showed me that, if you write the unbelievable believably, it can feel totally real. Who knew??
