“Don’t you have a birthday coming up, Tovarisch?”

“Napoleon, what is this obsession you have with my birthday?  It is a day like any other.”

No, Illya, it’s my best friend’s birthday and I am determined to celebrate it.  “I have to go see Mr. Waverly.  See you later.”  Moments later, he knocked on Mark and April’s office door.

“Hi, Napoleon!”

“Hi.  I’m reminding you that Monday is Illya’s birthday.  He grew up with the day ignored and can’t get excited about it.  I want you two to help me plan something special for that reticent Russian.”
“We’re in, Napoleon.”

JantoJones is planning the party already. There's a surprise party for real in the gym on Monday. It's Napoleon's job to get him there without blowing the surprise. No gifts, just lots of food, music, dancing and seeing who can get the Russian to smile first. lol

LOL, I did see the party. I just figured since the short affairs prompt is special for the birthday, my story will be about what those 3 do to get him there and make him happy at the same time.

I think there'll be a few stories along that line leading to the party. Maybe we could make it a mini call and response? The PicFic the day after the party...I suggested something related to that with a very pensive Illya photo.

Yes Monday will be fun, lots of stories and par-tay! :D

Sounds like a plan, just you and me. You start the birthday story since you've got something planned, keep the chapter short, like 300 words so it falls under the Short Affair minimum., then I'll write the next chapter, then you and me...We don't have to make it that long. You write the finishing chapter.

Work for you? It means we'll have to write throughout the day, while the party is going on. We can do it. :D

PS I just finished my Picfic for an after party story (sort of) I got ahead of myself. lol!

We're not on the same page. When I said I already have a story in mind, I was talking about the picfic.

We can still do a story together. I have 2 questions: How many chapters each should we write and why would we have to write it during the party? Are you thinking of using things other writers bring to the party so it looks like we're writing in real time? If we do that, the POV should be 1st and 2nd person (I and you) instead of 3rd person (Napoleon and Illya.) That would be an interesting challenge.

As to chapters, it depends on how the story progresses. Wasn't thinking about using things people bring to the party. There'll be non writers involved in the part too. Writing in first person is tough to do especially writing in real time, but yeah should make it interesting. Story could be about them getting Illya to the party, and his reaction...considering how private he is, I don't think he'll be happy about the party. Though he might not be rude. After all people are going to a lot of trouble for him.

This could get tricky.

I already wrote my PicFic for an after the party theme, so it goes off on a different tangent from what happens on Monday.
