Right now I am a little tipsy as on the way home from giving music lessons today I decided to treat myself to a small thin crust pizza for my birthday which is tomorrow.
I was feeling a little lonely and decided to eat there at the restaurant instead of takeout. (no I'm not drunk on pizza)

While at this little local bar/restaurant, I saw they had cucumber martinis on the drink menu!  A WTF moment...I'm not supposed to have carbs, cheese, tomato products or booze...but I'm allowed to have cucumber...seriously? So I threw caution to the wind for once. I'm so tired of my restricted diet and with my budget, it hasn't been easy sticking to it, not for lack of trying though.

I didn't care. (another) WTF!  You only live once! Four...yes I said four delicious vodka (Illya would be proud) martinis and a small pizza later I am quite tipsy and it feels soooooooo freakin' good! It's been a long time since that's happened!

To my amazement  a couple at the bar paid my tab after they found out I was sort of celebrating my 62nd birthday, alone.  Holy shit.  There is a God and He was looking down on me tonight.

I'm crying a lot right now, though I'm sure it's the vodka...

Sorry Section VII, I was trying to post this in my journal but i don't know what I did, and couldn't fix it. Blame it on the martinis...

Vodka makes you cry tears from Russian angels.....

Happy Birthday dear lady. I'll toast you this evening at our local pub (IPA beer not Vodka - can't do much hard stuff anymore!). Anyway - join the 62 crowd (I'll be 63 in January)....

You are not alone!

Oh, I'm sure no one minds that you posted here. An every once in awhile treat has to happen, well, every once in awhile. I'm glad you treated yourself.

{{{hugs}}}

No, that is a new Pepper picture, I just got it today and I love it.

Sadly, we're not going to get together before next Spring as I'm leaving for NV on 11/2 and my October is fairly full.

Wonderful story. So good. I wish you a complete (COMPLETE) lack of regret for your birthday.

Cheers Cousin Mine!

Agent Morris has gone out to invite a few of his street friends/contacts for your birthday tomorrow (it's going to be a private party with them and they bring their own accouterments they're rather possessive iykwim.)

I know how it is to celebrate birthdays "by myself", but I prefer my feline managers over any/all humans I know irl within the area. If it wasn't for my medications, I'd raise a toast tomorrow as well. On the other hand, I'll make a pizza grilled cheese sandwich in my waffle iron in your honor (yeah, I'm a little twisted in that way...)

Oh no! Get out the Alka Seltzer. We'll be really quiet tomorrow in Section VII so as not to disturb you. If you can't go a little crazy once in awhile, what's life for? Have a great Happy Birthday, my friend.

Happy birthday! 62 goes down pretty easy, like the cucumbertini. I'm looking at 63 in October. What a lovely fandom and a lovely lady at it's heart.

I'm definitely on the fringe of it but I can see what a lovely, accepting and warm fandom it is. I think it's got to do with the maturity (in so many ways) of the fans. It's the reason my 45th high school reunion was such an emotional and sweet affair--we're all old enough to cherish each other, our shared history and the time we have on the planet.
