We're counting down and
only 4 days left after today!



The twelve days of Christmas project.

Each day the UNCLE Christmas tree posts in section7mfu
and we'd like ALL the cousins to come visit and  share a memory of
Christmas' past as a comment, and leave it as a present under the tree.

Everyone who celebrates Chanukan, of Kwanza
is welcome to join in as well. It's not just a
Christmas tree, it's a symbol of joy.

There's nothing like our treasured memories, they're gifts
that will be with us always!

Give someone a smile with one of your favorite personal
memories, anectotes, or stories, songs...anything from your
past holidays, OR even what you're looking forward to this year!

So the first time I visited the Disney/MGM Studios park in Walt Disney World Florida, I took a turn down a street that looked like a movie set. And suddenly, I got this weird feeling of deja vu. I knew this place! Of course! It was Del Floria's. There was no name on the doorway, but the configuration of the lower than street level entrance next to the three brownstones was exactly what I'd seen on screen in MFU.

And it made sense: the back lot section of the theme park had been built using the blueprints of the MGM back lot. The real back lot had suffered a big fire in the late 60s, but here it was again, resurrected.

I took a photo of me posed on the sidewalk just outside the tailor shop, and did so every time we visited.

But my Christmas memory [actually two memories] is the time we visited during the Christmas season. Del Floria's street was covered in lights. And even better, when the Osbourne Family light show happened, it began to snow on Del Floria's! That's something we never saw on the series.
