Here's your last chance to post
a holiday memory under the tree!
a holiday memory under the tree!
It would be great if you could share
something and make a cousin smile!
something and make a cousin smile!

The twelve days of Christmas project.
ALL the cousins are welcome to visit and share a memory of
past holidays as a comment, and
leave it as a present under the tree.
Doesn't matter if you celebrate
Christmas, Chanukah, or Kwanza
Youre welcome to join in.
It's not just a
Christmas tree,
it's a symbol of happiness!
There's nothing like our treasured memories, they're gifts
that will be with us always!
Give someone a smile with one of your favorite personal
memories, anecdotes, stories, or songs
anything from your past holidays,
OR even what you're looking forward to this year!
Last chance to get into the Spirit!.
Today's the last day left
for the Christmas project!

Date: 2016-12-23 06:40 pm (UTC)As an adult I had 3 chihuahuas, and 2 cats, when I found a newborn kitten in the bushes at my house (the mother must have miscounted while moving her kittens)
So I adopted this little grey tabby and white thing that was barely the size of a tennis ball. I called her "Buster" for the simple reason that when I was trying to feed her Kitten Milk Replacer, she was fighting the bottle...so I added water from tuna fish. And said, you better drink this Buster!" Well she did!
My mom and brother came over for a visit, and my mother actually held Buster in her hand, and gave her some pets. That was a miracle. Mom still never liked cats, but would tolerate them being around her if she needed to after meeting Buster.
Buster I think might have been slightly retarded, perhaps from lack of food or ...maybe the mother sensed there was something wrong with her and that's why she was abandoned. Anyway Buster was my Christmas buddy. She'd sit and watch me decorate my tree (when I had a big one) it was if she was supervising me. She was a big lovable dope. I miss her too...I miss all my former pets. 4 dogs, Bunky, Duchess, Petie, Patty, Murphy were the dogs. 5 cats... Jinks, Cookie, Buster, Bunny, and Bowie...now I have Luna and Minnie.
Luna puts her front paws on my chest when I ask for a hug...or when she wants a treat. Minnie give me 'high five' all the time, but lately she's been copying Luna's hugs.
When I sneeze (the first time) Luna chirps, wonder if she's saying "God Bless you?" She only does it once, even though I may sneeze 3 or 4 more times. :D

Date: 2016-12-23 10:50 pm (UTC)Most of our cats have been pretty restrained about Christmas decorations, but I prefer not to tempt Samantha, who seems to think glitter must taste as good as it looks. She's a rather doggish-in-a-good-way cat. And, after, why else would we put Christmas trees up?

Date: 2016-12-24 05:56 pm (UTC)I remember the tinsel was saved from year to year and it was rather thick compared to today's tinsel. I don't think it was plastic.
Wow thank you for your memory and for helping me to recall one of mine!
Merry Christmas!
