January Song Story Challenge Artist: Queen!

The lyrics for "The Show Must Go On" and "Who Wants to Live Forever" can be found by clicking on the links.  Posting begins Thursday, January 19th and goes through Saturday, January 21st.

The rules are simple: Write a story of minimally 500 words with no maximum length using the lyrics of one of the songs as a prompt.  The lyrics can inspire your tale, provide the setting for your tale or even be the background music of your tale.  If you are feeling truly inspired, write two tales using both prompts.  Please include the phrase "Song Story Challenge" and the month in the Subject field and use the tag "song stories."

Question: may I use an alternate video for the song that I choose?

I have several Queen songs bookmarked on YouTube, including both of these (I'm thinking of "throwing in" I Want It All, also by Queen with the original lineup yep, Freddie Mercury as the "faceman"/lead.)

Hi! The songs listed are the only two for the challenge, but you can use any video version of them you choose. If you want to write a story using "I Want It All" (excellent song, BTW), I would suggest posting it as a non-challenge fic.

I was asking about using a different video for The Show Must Go On along with I Want It All and/or Those Were The Days, all three by the original lineup of Queen.

Yes, you're making sense! You can use any video version of "The Show Must Go On" you want.

If you want to incorporate "I Want It All" and/or "Those Were the Days" into your story that is based on "The Show Must Go On" that is fine, too. However, if you want to substitute one of those songs for the challenge songs, that you may not do.
