Thanks so much, as I already mentioned to you, this wasn't as easy to write as I thought it would be. Though the characters are clear, as are their relationships with their existing partners, switching them around was a little tricky. Let's face it Illya isn't Mark, and Slate isn't Illya so how they interacted with April and Napoleon respectively took on a different dynamic.
Really glad you enjoyed the tale and thanks for commenting!
Very good story - I thought you handled this well. I liked that both Mark and Illya had April's back. I can imagine them both smirking at the results. Napoleon's come uppence was well done and just right.
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and well as for your very kind words. As I stated in my reply to Laurose8, this wasn't as easy a challenged that I first thought it would be. Switching the partners changed the dynamics quite a bit. April and Napoleon were actually the anchors, and writing Illya and Mark respectively was a little tricky as I didn't want them to react the way they would to their (usual partners)
I also tried not to have Napoleon come across as being lecherous and predatory...he's just his usual 'flirtatious' self, and both Illya and Mark know it, but still...."D
If that was your intention with Napoleon - then you hit it square on for me. I don't see Napoleon as lecherous or predatory and I didn't see that in your story. As you say, Illya and Mark know but April is still a bit innocent. I like the way you turned it around so the boys could protect April and get their free lunch out of the deal.
I think you handled all the dynamics quite well - I would enjoy more in this AU if the muse strikes.
Wow, thanks so much for the validation, that means a lot. I've been asked to continue a few of my What-if stories, but they'll have to be put on a waiting list as I have quite a few irons in the fire.
