Folks,

I have enabled partial moderation for [livejournal.com profile] section7mfu. It shouldn't affect your posting or commenting at all, but it should help with keeping out the spam comments we've been getting lately.

We'll see how it works out as it can always be turned off again.

Though the HODOWE: United Nations Day Challenge continues through Saturday, October 27th, I want to post the guidelines for the next HODOWE challenge to give folks as much time as possible for writing. Especially since this one is our last HODOWE challenge for the year, and next year we will be sponsoring the QUOTEME challenge instead.

So anywho, here are the guidelines for the HODOWE: Guy Fawkes/Election Day combo challenge

CHALLENGE: Write an MFU fanfic story regarding the ideas embodied in either Guy Fawkes Day or Election Day or both. The story doesn't have to necessarily mention or include the day(s) by name; just embody a scenario that fits the concept behind it/them. General ideas here: (1) conspiracies, both discovered and undiscovered; (2) deliverance in terms of being saved from some overwhelming wrong or disaster; (3) political demonstrations of one kind or another; and (4) making any sort of political statement, whether publicly or privately.

STATISTICAL STUFF: Minimum of 500 words with no set maximum. Must fit into the overall concepts of this community, i.e., contain no explicit adult material and reflect the 1960s series in style and content.

POSTING: To this forum (and on fanfiction dot net), starting on November 4th and ending on November 10th November 17th.

After speaking for a while, Danylko said to Illya.imagesCA498L9I - Copy

"So you played in the past?"

"As a child, nothing since," Illya admitted sadly.

"One does not forget the moves. Come my friend join our practice."

Before he could refuse, the team had Illya playing along with them. Napoleon watched from the stands enjoying the determination in his partners face, the joy of the game.

Soon Napoleon could see all Illya's training take hold as he whipped around the field, taking the ball in for a goal. His reddened face against his blonde hair stood out in the evening light.

“Illya, Aunt Amy wants to know if you have made Thanksgiving plans yet.”

“Oh?  She is not going to visit your sister like last year?”

“No, she told me the kids were wild and the adults were boring.  She’d rather stay in Manhattan.  I told her I will cook plus order a meal.  That way, if we have a mission, she’ll still have her catered meal.”

“But if we do not have a mission, she will have two complete meals prepared!  Is that not wasteful?”

“Not with you around, Partner Mine.”

“Tell Aunt Amy I will be honored to come."

Half drabbles inspired by lines from a poem:

Prompted by: Dream Song 113: or Amy Vladeck or Riva Freifeld~John Berryman

For many years I hid it from him successfully—

There are so many words I leave unspoken, so many truths about myself, hidden. He is my friend, and I trust him with my life but why can I not trust him with my secrets.

“What do I fear, my partners pity?” Illya asked as Napoleon appeared, smiling at him.
.

to liven up the airless with one nose

“Leave it to a fistfight between those two to settle things,” Mark said.

“I’ve never seen them this angry and over a sofa filled with diamonds?” April declared. “Can you imagine arguing over that?”

“Illya forgot to search it and Napoleon caught trouble for it.”

“Hey things happen.” April smiled.
.

for which I flush with gratitude; yet away

“I’ve lost count how many times you’ve done this.” Napoleon said, looking at his partner after a bullet had been removed from his shoulder.

“It is my job to protect my partner, ” Illya groused.

“No it’s not.”

“You will not convince me otherwise. Now where is my chocolate ice cream?”
