Wow I almost forgot! It's Friday again, and you know what that means, It's Writer's Choice Day! Time to post links to your favorite stories that you've written. Please include a little blub telling us a bit abou your fic, what elements you like about it and why it should be read. We've had a great readersship response to Writer's Choice, so keep posting those links!


Just a reminder! Save your Christmas/holiday storiies as we'll be posting the '12 Days of Christmas' starting on December  12th. Every day between the 12th and 23rd we'll be posting holiday fics, so make sure you join us and post yours.  Not links, unless you have to, we'd like you to post the actual story on Section VII. Writer's Choice~ "THE PELORUS AFFAIR"

The Pelorus Affair was a story written for our own Laurose. She said to me once that there are never any MFU adventures in her neck of the world...New Zealand.  Thanks to her help and lots of research, this story ended up becoming one of my personal favorites. It has adventure, action, romance, Maori warriors and mythology...oh yes and lots of angst. It also has one of my favolrite OC characters, a native Maori named Jollie. Please excuse a few typos, have been meaning to go back and fix them. Hope you enjoy my story.

To set the scene, here's a video about the Maori people, as well as a Maori Haka...if you don't know what that is, the story will eventually explain it. Please feel free to comment; I'd love to know what you think of this one. (it was actually was an ambitious undertaking with lots of research...and I learned so much about New Zealand (and Australia) that they've become my number one destinations to visit, but sadly I'd have to win the lottery to do that.

There's 17 chapters so it'll make a good weekend read!

First of all, LJ seems to be having some issues and I'm posting this on a strange looking format and hoping it turns out okay. It won't let me use the link function, so you'll need to copy and paste in order to get to the story. This story was my first Down the Chimney entry and is from 2010. It was the culmination of my first year as a reader and ultimately a writer in the fandom. I'd never heard of fanfiction before, and the year just kept providing me with one discovery after another.
